As Chairperson of the Audit and Finance Committee he has led Council’s effort for good financial practices and efficiency in government.

Infrastructure and transportation: Capitalizing on the GO Bond recently passed, Jared supports the effort to improve roads, bridges, and to improve mobility and accessibility.

Jared promotes measures for fiscal transparency and Boards and Commissions for oversight of the City’s special tax funds to benefit city operations.

He has endeavored to be present to hear citizens concerns and provides multiple avenues for feedback to ensure residents’ voices are heard in the decision-making process.

Recognizing the importance of stable housing, Jared will work to expand access to affordable homes, support housing assistance programs, and partner with developers to address the diverse needs of Independence’s population.

Jared along with the current Council have taken efforts to address concerns regarding homelessness through the CSL Independence T.O.G.E.T.H.E.R. trash cleanup program. In addition, they support the CSL Drop In Center.
While comprehensive answers are difficult, efforts are needed to address this issue in Independence and Jared is supportive of working to address continued concerns in the community on this important issue.
